Annual Event Last year RSM Erasmus University hosted the 22nd CEMS Annual Event and 21st CEMS MIM Graduation Ceremony. For this occasion the entire CEMS community had a unique opportunity to come together in Rotterdam and take part in discussions, decision-making and networking. The Annual
Events Committee was specifically formed to support RSM Erasmus
University in making this event a memorable success. Approximately 500
graduates along with their families were expected from the different CEMS schools as
well as Corporate Partners and many other members of the CEMS community. This presented not only an opportunity for RSM, but also a great challenge to coordinate all
the different events and participants in order to promote RSM Erasmus
University adequately. The 2010 Committee
We, Sylvia Feilhauer and Deborah Elfferding and eight members within the Committee, supported the faculty by organizing and coordinating the different events during the Annual Event. Moreover, the Committee represented the link between the RSM staff – the main organizers of the event - and the CEMS students by facilitating information flow as well as planning and integrating the students into the Annual Event. The Committee’s main responsibility lied in solving logistical problems in order to ensure a smooth flow between the different events and make every event a positive experience. For that matter, we recruited around 60 students to help during these 5 days. The students facilitated the entrance to different events, handed out the caps and gowns or assisted the Corporate Partners. Every member within the Annual Events Committee contributed individually to a specific task (e.g. caps and gowns, marketing), or event (e.g. Friday night party) during the Annual Event. The members of the Committee were therefore strongly participating in the execution of different tasks, whereby the Heads of the Committee were mainly in charge of planning and translating the inputs of the faculty into a feasible action plan by coordinating the Committee members. We were very proud to be able to participate in making the Annual Event 2010 an unforgettable experience for the CEMS community. Best Regards, Sylvia and Deborah
